Moving the plot along in some way, hopefully?

Garbageman hurtled down the street like a speeding comet on a collision course with earth, only he wasn't on fire, and was heading in a horizontal direction rather than a vertical direction. Norman was nowhereto be seen, but Garbageman was still traumatised by the fact that he might be.

Suddenly, there was a strange noise.

SPLUNKDSGTWEQ!!!

Dave skidded to a halt, and removed his garbage-can helmet, throwing it majestically aside.
"What was that?" he asked no one in particular, "It sounded something like a... a..."
He paused, unable to think of what 'Splunkdsgtweq' could sound anything like.

A figure stepped from the shadows, and Dave gasped.
"What? Who? How?"

The rogue banana eyed him evilly, an AK47 strapped firmly around its waste (as opposed to a waist, which we have to admit bananas don't have).
Dave froze (well, it was quite chilly out here without his helmet).

If the banana had a mouth, it would have taken this moment to have uttered some maniacal laughter, followed by some great statement, something like "Now you will die!"
Dave would have replied super-heroically, "But why?"
Then, the banana would have said, "I am but a scout, the other bananas are still hidden away in our secret hideout, but I was sent to kill you. Our plan is... yadadadada" and it would have explained the plot.

However, the banana was a banana, and banana's don't have mouthes, so of course, it was impossible for all this to happen (after all, we want to keep this story firmly grounded in reality), so it just stood their, pointed the AK47 at Dave, and prepared to fire.

But wait, what had made the noise 'Splunkdsgtweq' ?
